Halloween COVID Safety Tips

10/27/2020 (Permalink)

COVID has thrown everyone for a loop this year, but especially for moms of young children. Moms everywhere have been torn between allowing their children to have a fun summer and keeping their children masked and protected from the coronavirus. Here are a few COVID-19 Halloween safety tips to ensure your children’s safety and a great Halloween!

There is no better day to wear a mask than Halloween! Try incorporating a medical mask into your child’s Halloween costume by purchasing a fun, new mask for them or dying the mask to match the color-scheme of their costume.

It is also very important that we upgrade from the communal candy bowl to an individual candy bag spread out on a table in the front yard. Social distancing by limiting face-to-face interaction and doorbell ringing will also be necessary this year.

This year we also need to be careful who we decide to go trick-or-treating with. In years past, you may have walked with neighborhood kids, cousins, or friend groups. This year, it will be best to keep the trick-or-treating group as small as possible.

Finally, there are other Halloween festivities that will entertain your kids this Halloween. Your family may choose to forgo trick-or-treating altogether and opt for a fun family night. Examples of activities include carving pumpkins, baking treats, watching movies, and playing fun games.

Whether your family chooses to go out or stay in this Halloween, the team here at SERVPRO of Santee & Lakeside wishes you all a safe and happy Halloween!
